Program Note

Chase Music is a short double piano work written for and recorded with a very talented friend of mine. The piece produces the effect of two forces chasing after each other. Thematic ideas, often identical ones, are frequently batted back and forth between the pianos. Rhythmic diminution stirs the A and A’ sections into a hyperbolic frenzy, while the contrasting lyrical B section provides a contemplative respite from the chase.
